Overview

If you are introducing soldering kits to your students, you'll want this value packed 4 in 1 package. The student starts by following detailed instructions on "how to solder" and builds a non-functional "learn to solder kit" which includes a PC board and all parts. After he or she has gained the skills necessary to solder properly, the student progresses on to each of the 3 exciting kits listed below. Each one operates on its own and can be mounted in an optional box if the student desires. At the conclusion, the student has built 1 non-functional kit and 3 fully operating kits that he/she can enjoy. All kits are Skill Level 1 and come complete with all parts, PC board and instructions. Each kit (except the non-functional Learn to Solder Kit) operates from a 9V battery (not included).

LEARN TO SOLDER KIT

Learn to Solder Kit. Complete kit of parts and PC board to introduce students to solder techniques. The student solders the electronic components to the PC board to gain ample practice in good soldering. By the time the student has finished building this non-functional kit, he or she should know how to solder and how to identify various electronic parts. This kit does not function and is meant for practice and training only. Size of PC board: 2.5" x 1.2".

LED FLASHER KIT

Easy to build kit uses the amazing 555 timer IC to alternately flash a red and green LED. The kit makes a great attention getter and can be used in robots, warning lights, model railroads, space models, convention badges, etc. Operates from 5 to 9VDC. Size: 1.5" x 1".

IC DECISION MAKER KIT

If you have ever had difficulty in making a decision then this kit may be just the answer you've been looking for. When you depress a small on board switch a bright green LED and a bright red LED begin to alternately flash. As soon as you release the button, one of the LEDs stays on indicating the decision. Red means no and green means yes. Fun to use and fun to build. Uses an CMOS IC. Size of PC board: 1 3/8" x 1 7/8".

TEMPERATURE WARNING KIT

The Temperature Warning Kit can be set to indicate a rise or drop in temperature. You simply adjust the control knob on the kit for the ambient control temperature that the thermistor is sensing. Now as the temperature changes, a Red or Green LED indicates over or under temperature from the standard. Features an IC circuit and operation from one 9V battery (not included). Use this kit to warn of garden temperatures below 32 degrees or refrigerator/freezer temperatures above normal, etc. Order optional wire to allow for remote location of thermistor sensor if desired. Size of PC board 2" x 1.6". Skill Level 1.
